凈化風管的質量直接關系到系統是否達到設計參數和正常使用要求，其制作一般采用工廠集中制作和現場制作兩種方式。無論采用哪種制作方式，都要保證制作場地的潔凈和封閉，較好選用水泥地面或地面鋪設金屬鋼板，其面積不得小于100m?，且滿足采光和照明條件，制作完成的凈化風管要進行堆放，并進行看管;如果選用現場預制時，要保證預制完成后的風管能夠及時運施工現場，盡量減少風管搬運的距離，這樣可以避免運輸過程中對風管的污染。

板厚對風管的質量影響較大，為了保證風管的重量，要選用較小板厚的風管，但是選用的過程還是和風管的尺寸和壓力級別有關。在我國，大部分的金屬風管采用的是熱鍍鋅鋼板和鋼帶，他的基體是冷軋低碳結構鋼板，其抗拉強度>270 ，延伸率>24%，厚度允許差值為d=0.6-1.2mm范圍內(±0.07-0.13mm)，因為我國的工業技術和檢測技術與國外具有一定差距，國內采用的風管板厚要比國外標準大20%，但隨著我國經濟技術的不斷發展，許多國內廠商已經有能力生產厚度均勻的板材，因而在風管選擇較小板厚時，要選擇誤差范圍小的鋼板，以免造成鋼材的浪費。
